Sycamore Haven was founded by CEO, Maria Elena Cadet, in 2020, based on her passion for helping people and supporting their healing. Her inspiration for the company comes from the biblical story of Zacchaeus, a tax collector, who climbed a sycamore tree when he knew Jesus was passing through his town of Jericho. Despite his shortcomings, he displayed a level of faith and humility in wanting to see Jesus without a care of what other people would think about him. As the biblical story continues, Jesus informs Zacchaeus that he wanted to spend time at his home, which eventually leads to Zacchaeus’ repentance. The sycamore tree, in this story, therefore, becomes symbolic of a haven of healing and restoration. The biblical foundation of the company is what helps promote a healing journey in the mind, body, and spirit. Sycamore Haven is dedicated to creating a safe space in which people can be vulnerable in their challenges and work toward their healing. Sycamore Haven operates in the Hudson Valley area in New York.
